The race started in light wind which proceeded to
subside. Course was set to A mark and back. Two boats withdrew due to lack of
wind. The remaining 2 hung on and finished in the dark. The race provided
practice for the committee as 2 of us were learning the procedures. Buttercup
was the club winner.
It was a pleasant evening on the water. At least it
was for the committee. Race participants, trying to get some motion out of a
very light breeze may have felt otherwise. Several crew members adjourned to
Bentley's following the race to discuss all things sail.
We are all looking forward to the start of the
regular series. 16 boats have registered to date. It should be a great season.
